Caring for trees can be as simple as watering a newly-planted tree through a few dry summers, to the professional skills of arborists who climb trees and prune away dead wood or other branches to form the tree to a shape that suits its position and purpose, or to protection measures where trees are close to development sites, or to scientific research into the effects of pests and pathogens and their control.
